The Winery

Their motto “Respect and Love for Nature and its Fruits” defines a passionated winemaking project based on maximum respect for the environment and the local viticulture in balance with nature, landscape, and society.

The winery produce a limited quantity of certified organic wines (50,000+ bottles/year), crafted through traditional viticulture and a minimal-intervention winemaking philosophy.

The winery is currently lead by the well-known Spanish winemaker José Benavides Jiménez-Landi, who supervises the vineyards and the end-to-end wine elaborating process following the biodynamic calendar.

The Terroir

Bodegas Jiménez-Landi belongs to the Spanish Appellation of Origin DO Méntrida, one of the oldest and smallest in Spain.

The winery has vineyards in Méntrida area (avg. 650 mtrs altitude) well as in the well-known Sierra de Gredos (avg. 850 mtrs altitude). The area is ideal for traditional Grenache cultivation characterised by unique sand, clay, granite, and slate soils.

The unique terroir enables Bodegas Jimçenez-Landi to elaborate wines with personality and typicality faithful to every plot.

The Wines

The Bodegas Jiménez-Landi wines always represent the typicality of their soils, elaborated with Grenache as the main grape variety plus other varieties with well-defined adaptation, such as Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, always in balance with the local flora and landscape.

The winery works exclusively with eco-friendly and biodynamic supplies, applying native yeasts and obsessively minimizing chemical usage at any step of the wine production process. They work with the least possible intervention to cultivate honest and authentic wines, leveraging the natural elements.

Every September, the harvest is handmade by trained men and women. The fermentation is made in an artisan manner, including the traditional steeping of the grapes in wood
vats. The ageing -varies from 6 to 14 months depending on the wines- is done in concrete tanks and big French oak barrels, as much as possible, respecting the identity and personality of every plot and wine.
